Mike brings to the Appropriate Dispute Resolution field years of experience in the fields of policing, education, counseling, staff relations and private consulting. A recent graduate of the Certificate in Conflict Management from the Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society (AAMS), Mike holds a Qualified Mediator (Q.Med) designation with ADR Institutes of Alberta and Canada and is working towards the designation of Chartered Mediator (C.Med). Mike is proud to now be an afiliate of the Workplace Bullying Institute, a North American leader in the effort to eliminate bullying from the work environment.
This combination of training and life experience assures clients of the utmost in professionalism, principles, courtesy, competence and confidentiality. By focusing on “problems not people” when dealing with conflict, Mike guides clients to collaberative resolutions.
An experienced educator and dynamic presenter, Mike enjoys working with individuals, couples, and groups both large and small. In addition, Mike's strength is working with staffs, management groups and combinations of both in workplace settings. Mike has lived and worked with Aboriginal and First Nations communities and understands and utilizes culturally relevant methods for dispute resolution.
Mike specializes in the area of bullying identification, prevention, and intervention, as well as forming appropriate responses and policies to address this issue. Bilingual in English and French Mike can facilitate communication in both official languages.
